Are Freckles Harmless or Do They Lead to Pigmentation Issues?
I’ve developed freckles on my cheeks and nose after years of sun exposure. Some people say they’re natural and harmless, while others suggest laser removal. How do I know if my freckles are purely cosmetic or if they can turn into deeper pigmentation issues later?

Freckles are usually harmless, but years of sun exposure can cause deeper pigmentation, ultimately making the spots look darker or more spread out.
A dermatologist can easily differentiate superficial freckles from deeper sun damage. If it’s only freckles, mild treatments work well; if deeper pigmentation is present, targeted therapies help prevent it from worsening.
