Fistula Treatment : Second Opinion and Next Steps
3 weeks ago
I had fistula surgery a year ago at Care centre, but the problem recurred. I tried medicines from other sources, including Ayurveda, but now I am considering a second opinion. I haven’t done any MRI or fistulogram yet and want guidance on consulting a proper proctologist and preparing for the treatment.

If you have a recurring fistula problem, it’s important to consult a specialist proctologist, preferably someone experienced in treating fistula and hemorrhoids. Since you have not yet undergone an MRI or fistulogram, these investigations are usually recommended before planning any further treatment to understand the internal tract and the extent of the problem.
A second opinion from a qualified proctologist is a good step to confirm the diagnosis and plan the correct procedure. Avoid relying solely on medication from other sources, as fistula often requires surgical or minimally invasive laser treatment for permanent relief.
Your healthcare provider can guide you on the exact procedure after reviewing the scans and your medical history, ensuring a safe and effective treatment plan.
