I want to understand whether laser vision correction surgery is suitable for patients with glaucoma or cataract, what are the eye power limits, the cost of different procedures, whether these surgeries are covered under insurance or ECS, and when we can meet the doctor.

Laser vision correction surgery is meant only for eyesight power correction and is not suitable for glaucoma patients. It is generally recommended for patients whose eye power falls within a certain range, usually around 5 to 7. If the eye power is beyond this range, lens implantation surgery is advised instead.

For patients with cataract, laser vision correction is not an option. In such cases, lens implantation cataract surgery is the only effective treatment.

The cost of laser vision correction surgeries typically starts from ₹50,000 and can go up to ₹90,000–₹95,000. Premium procedures such as SMILE may cost around ₹1,20,000. Exact pricing depends on the type of procedure recommended after evaluation.

Regarding insurance coverage, it depends entirely on your policy terms and conditions. While the hospital may be on the ECS panel, this specific laser vision correction surgery is usually not covered under insurance or ECS, even though other treatments at the hospital might be.

Meeting the doctor can be planned once you are available; the appointment can be scheduled after coordinating your preferred date.
