Pancreatic Stone Treatment : ERCP, Symptoms , Treatment

My husband has a 9 mm stone in the pancreas and has been experiencing stomach pain, gas, and indigestion for the past 1–2 months. The pain occurs in episodes. He is 39 years old and has BP and diabetes that are controlled with medicines. He already underwent ERCP, but the stone could not be removed because the doctor had to travel abroad. He is still in pain, taking painkillers, and currently on a liquid diet. We are from Mumbai and staying near Kanjur but can arrange treatment in Thane if needed. What should be the next step for treatment, and how long will it take for a doctor to review the reports and suggest further management?

Since you are in Mumbai (Kanjur area) and can also arrange care in Thane, the consultation and further management can be conveniently coordinated within Mumbai itself. Based on the current details of a 9 mm hard pancreatic stone, recurrent abdominal pain, gas and indigestion, controlled BP and diabetes, a previous ERCP where the stone was not removed, and ongoing use of painkillers with a liquid diet, this indicates that the stone is still causing symptoms and requires timely intervention.

A 9 mm hard pancreatic stone may need a repeat ERCP using advanced techniques, laser lithotripsy to break the stone during ERCP, or surgical intervention if endoscopic removal is unsuccessful. Since symptoms are persisting, treatment should not be delayed. Once you share the medical reports on WhatsApp, the doctor can usually review them within about 30 minutes and advise the next step.

The immediate plan would include report evaluation, consultation with a gastroenterologist or GI surgeon, planning definitive stone removal, and ensuring that blood pressure and diabetes remain well controlled before any procedure. You can call anytime on 080-6541-4467 for coordination or updates.

Early treatment is important to prevent complications such as infection or worsening pancreatitis.
