Facial Lipoma Removal : Surgery Procedure, Cost & Recovery

I am calling from Noida regarding lipoma removal for my father, Sanjay Jain, who is around 60 years old. He has had a soft lipoma on his cheek for the past 10 years. Earlier tests confirmed that it is a normal (non-cancerous) lipoma, and no treatment has been taken so far. He also has asthma but no other major medical conditions. I would like to understand how the lipoma removal surgery is performed and what the treatment process involves.

A lipoma removal is a minor surgical procedure usually performed under local anesthesia. Since the lipoma is soft, non-cancerous, and confirmed through previous tests, it can typically be removed safely.

During the procedure, the surgeon makes a small incision (cut) over the lipoma area and carefully removes the fatty tissue (lipoma) from beneath the skin. Once removed, the incision is closed with stitches if required. The procedure is generally quick and may be done as a day-care surgery, meaning a hospital stay is usually not required.

Because your father has asthma, it is important to inform the doctor beforehand so necessary precautions can be taken. Recovery is usually smooth, with mild swelling or discomfort for a few days. Proper wound care and follow-up are advised to ensure good healing and minimal scarring.
