Period Didn’t Come This Month : What Are the Possible Reasons?
My period hasn't arrived this month. The pregnancy test is negative. What are the other reasons a period can just not show up? This hasn't happened to me before and I'm not sure whether to wait or see a doctor.

Missing a period with a negative pregnancy test is more common than most people realize. Several conditions can suppress ovulation entirely.
Most frequent causes:
PCOS: Leading cause of missed periods. Hormonal imbalance prevents regular ovulation. Other signs include acne, facial hair, and weight gain around the abdomen.
Thyroid disorders: Both underactive and overactive thyroid disrupt cycles. A simple TSH blood test checks for this.
Stress: High cortisol suppresses the hypothalamus, halting the hormonal cascade that triggers your cycle.
Low body weight or sudden weight loss: Can stop periods entirely.
Excessive exercise: Common in athletes.
Perimenopause: In women over 40, cycles become unpredictable.
