Emergency contraceptive pills work mainly by delaying or preventing ovulation, but they do not provide ongoing protection for the rest of the menstrual cycle. This means you can still become pregnant if you have unprotected intercourse later in the same cycle, including around the time of ovulation.
Because emergency pills can also make ovulation and periods less predictable, it is difficult to know the exact fertile days after taking one. If you have intercourse again, it is advisable to use a reliable contraceptive method such as condoms or a regular birth control option to reduce the risk of an unintended pregnancy.
