Managing Varicose Veins: Tests, Socks, and Treatment?Varicose Veins

I have varicose veins behind the knee and recently noticed some varicose veins in my abdomen as well. Could you suggest effective treatment for varicose veins? My doctor mentioned doing a colour Doppler for varicose veins. How important is this test? Also, can you guide me about varicose veins socks and their price?

As a doctor, all that I could understand from your symptoms is that the presence of varicose veins behind the knee and now in the abdomen could indicate deeper venous involvement. So it’s good that you’re being proactive.

In your case, a color Doppler ultrasound is extremely important. It helps assess blood flow, valve function, and identify any vein blockages or reflux. The diagnostics from this test also help in choosing the right treatment regimen according to your condition.

Some home remedies, such as compression socks or stockings, are very effective for varicose veins when used correctly. Depending on the brand, the cost usually varies.
