Brown Watery Discharge Instead of a Period : What Does It Mean?
My period is 8 days late. Instead of a normal period, I'm getting brown, watery discharge. It's not like a proper period at all. What could this be? Should I test for pregnancy?

Brown watery discharge after a missed period can mean a few different things and yes, a pregnancy test is a reasonable first step.
Possible pregnancy: Some women get what looks like a very light period in early pregnancy brown, watery, much lighter than normal. This can be implantation bleeding or a small subchorionic bleed. It’s not actually a period, just looks like one.
Hormonal irregularity: If the uterine lining isn’t thick enough to shed properly, the result can be an unusually light, brown, watery discharge rather than a full period.
Perimenopause: In women in their late 30s-40s, cycles can become lighter and unpredictable.
Stress or sudden weight changes: Both affect how the lining sheds.
