Can I Still Get Pregnant After Having 4 Abortions?

I've had 4 abortions in the past, a mix of medical and surgical. I'm worried this may have damaged my fertility. Can repeated abortions cause permanent problems, and what are my realistic chances of conceiving later?

Having multiple abortions doesn’t automatically mean reduced fertility, but it partly depends on the type and whether there were complications.

Medical abortions (tablet-based): Very low risk to future fertility. No instruments enter the uterus, so physical damage isn’t a concern. Multiple uncomplicated medical abortions don’t, on their own, affect the ability to conceive.

Surgical abortions (D&C): Carry a small risk of intrauterine adhesions (Asherman’s syndrome) scar tissue that can affect implantation. This risk is slightly higher with repeated procedures but remains uncommon when done by a skilled provider.
