Doctor, kaam ki wajah se meri aadat late night jagne ki ho gayi hai, aur ab mera sleeping pattern completely bigad gaya hai. Mujhe bahut short sleep milti ha, kya is wajah se bhi weight gain ho sakta hai?

Yes, poor sleep or staying up late can definitely contribute to weight gain. Proper sleep of 6–8 hours is important to keep your body’s metabolism balanced.

When sleep is disturbed, the hormones that control hunger and fat storage (like leptin and ghrelin) get affected, leading to increased appetite and slower fat burning.

Even if you eat well and exercise, lack of quality sleep can still make weight control difficult. So along with a healthy diet and regular exercise, maintaining a consistent sleep routine is equally important for managing weight.
