Chronic Sinusitis: Is FESS Surgery the Only Solution?Sinus Surgery

I have been suffering from chronic sinusitis for over 2 years, with constant headaches, facial pain, and blocked nose. Despite trying antibiotics, nasal sprays, and home remedies, the relief is always temporary. My doctor is now suggesting surgery (FESS). I am scared — is surgery the only permanent solution, and what are the risks if I delay it further?

When sinusitis continues for years despite medicines, sprays, and lifestyle remedies, it usually means the sinus passages are physically blocked. In such cases, surgery like FESS is often the only way to open up the passages and allow the sinuses to drain properly. The surgery is safe, minimally invasive, and gives long-lasting relief for most patients. If you keep delaying, the repeated infections can damage the lining of the sinuses, cause chronic headaches, breathing problems, and in rare cases, complications in nearby areas like the eyes or brain. While medicines can control flare-ups for some time, they don’t correct the root cause. Surgery is not something to be feared, but rather seen as a solution to finally break the cycle of infections.
