I wear glasses and have been advised lasik surgery, but I am worried that complications might require follow up. Are such follow-ups usually covered under insurance, or i have to pay for them separately? And if i take treatment from government hospital are they accepting insurance?

LASIK surgery is generally considered an elective cosmetic procedure in India, so insurance usually does not cover the surgery or follow-up visits, even if complications arise later.
You might likely have to pay separately for follow-up checkups, medicines, or any corrective procedures.
However, if the refractive error is very high or if there is a medical necessity, some insurance policies may cover the claim.
In government hospitals, LASIK is offered at much lower costs compared to private centers. But even there, standard health insurance policies are not accepted for elective LASIK.
