Does LASIK cause long-term dryness or night glare?

My friend told me LASIK can cause long-term dryness or glare at night while driving. How common are these side effects, and do they go away with time or stay permanently for some people?

Dryness, glare, halos, or starbursts at night are relatively common in the initial weeks after LASIK. Most people experience improvement within 3 to 6 months as the eyes heal and adapt. In a small number of patients, mild dryness or night-vision disturbances may persist, but these are usually manageable with lubricating drops, anti-glare glasses, or other treatments. Advances in laser technology have reduced the risk of permanent side effects significantly compared to earlier LASIK techniques.
