Does single-eye glaucoma surgery influence the untreated eye?Glaucoma Surgery

I have advanced glaucoma in one eye and moderate in the other. The doctor recommended surgery for the worse eye first. Will having surgery in one eye affect pressure or vision in the other eye?

Surgery in one eye does not directly affect the other eye’s pressure or vision. Each eye is treated separately, based on its condition and level of damage. The usual approach is to operate on the worse eye first to preserve as much vision as possible, while the better eye continues with medications until surgery is truly needed. Managing glaucoma often requires balancing both eyes carefully over time, with close monitoring at every visit.
