Forehead Discoloration & Acne Scars Treatment : Is Fat Grafting Better Than Laser?

I have been noticing a C-shaped discoloration and some hard bumps on my forehead, which developed after I applied garlic paste during the pandemic to treat a small bump. Along with this, I also have uneven skin texture and acne scars on my cheeks. These scars appear slightly depressed and become more noticeable in light. I am looking for an overall skin improvement rather than treating just one area. Could you please suggest the best treatment option for this kind of discoloration and depressed scars, and whether laser treatment would be effective or if there are better alternatives?

Based on your concern, it appears that you have post-inflammatory discoloration along with depressed acne scars, which are quite common after skin injury or improper topical application like garlic paste. While laser treatments are commonly used by dermatologists for improving skin tone and mild surface irregularities, they may not be very effective for deeper, depressed scars where the skin has sunk below its normal level.

In such cases, advanced procedures like fat grafting (nanofat grafting) can provide significantly better and long-lasting results. In this technique, a small amount of fat is taken from your own body (usually the abdomen), processed, and then injected into the affected areas. This helps in elevating the depressed scars, improving skin texture, and promoting healing from within.

This treatment can offer around 80–90% improvement in forehead scars and noticeable smoothing of acne scars on the cheeks, often in a single session. It also enhances overall skin quality, making it softer and more even. However, the final results depend on individual skin condition, and a proper clinical evaluation is important before proceeding.
