How can couples cope with male infertility and improve sperm health?

We were shocked when the doctor said the issue may be from my husband’s side. How do couples emotionally navigate male infertility, especially when men often feel embarrassed or guilty, and what treatment options realistically improve sperm health?

Male infertility is far more common than most people think, but socially men often don’t talk about it. It’s important to remember that sperm issues often come from factors beyond anyone’s control like hormonal imbalance, genetics, or long-term lifestyle stress.

Many couples find it helpful to process this together, rather than treating it as one partner’s fault. On the treatment side, lifestyle changes, antioxidants, hormonal correction, or treating underlying infections can significantly improve sperm health.

Even when sperm parameters are low, procedures like ICSI give excellent chances because only a minimal number of healthy sperm are needed to fertilize the egg.
