A friend of mine had typhoid recently, and even after the fever went down, they kept feeling weak for weeks. This made me wonder, how long does typhoid fever usually last? Is it normal feel tired even after recovery, and when can a person expect to get back to normal routine?

Typhoid fever typically lasts for about 1 to 2 weeks with proper treatment. However, weakness and fatigue can continue for a few more weeks even after the fever subsides.

This happens because the body takes time to recover from the infection. Proper rest, nutrition, and hydration are important during this phase.

Gradual recovery is normal, but if symptoms persist for too long, it’s advisable to follow up with a doctor.
