How many types of TB are there, and how are they different?

I’ve always thought TB is just a lung disease, but recently I heard that it can affect other parts of the body as well. This confused me a bit—are there different types of TB? If yes, how do they differ from each other?

Yes, TB can be of different types depending on the part of the body it affects. The most common type is pulmonary TB, which affects the lungs. There is also extrapulmonary TB, which can affect other areas like lymph nodes, bones, spine, or kidneys.
Another classification includes latent TB (inactive infection without symptoms) and active TB (when symptoms are present and the disease is contagious). The type determines the treatment approach and duration.
