Is a Scalp Lipoma Risky and What Is the Treatment Process?

I have a small lump on my scalp and I was told it could be a lipoma. I want to know whether this lump is risky, what its size means, and if it can come back after treatment. Also, what kind of treatment is required, and can I consult the doctor online before proceeding?

Based on your description, this appears to be a lipoma, which is a benign (non-cancerous) lump. Lipomas are usually not risky and remain localized inside the skin layer.

In your case, the size you mentioned around 2 × 2 cm, with another smaller one of about 0.5 cm is considered small.

The treatment involves a minor surgical procedure where a small incision is made and the lump is removed completely. Once removed properly, lipomas usually do not come back.

Before proceeding with treatment, you can definitely opt for an online consultation. You may share clear photos on WhatsApp, and we can also arrange a video consultation with the doctor for proper evaluation and guidance. After reviewing your case, the doctor will advise the next steps.
