I had a C-section two years ago and gained a lot of weight after pregnancy. Is it safe to consider weight loss surgery now?

During delivery, there is physiological weight regret. Generally about 70% of the weight can be lost during the lactational period over a year.
Unfortunately, some ladies can have more weight gain or they can have persistent weight after pregnancy and that is because of genetics and many other factors. It’s not their fault. If the lactational period is over and it is 2 years after the pregnancy, the lady has a higher BMI and she qualifies bariatric surgery.
She can safely undergo bariatric procedure. The choice of the procedure will depend on whether she wants to conceive in the next year or after some time. But bariatric procedure can make her second pregnancy healthier and she deserves to lose weight even though it is 2 years after pregnancy and if other methods have not succeeded in getting her to normal weight.
Pregnancy is not a contraindication for bariatric surgery. Bariatric surgery can be offered before pregnancy and even after pregnancy just like we treat any other disease before pregnancy and after pregnancy and it is the standardized part of treatment.
