Lipoma : Do Need Surgery, Cost & Online Consultation

I am Shiva, 20 years old, and I have a lipoma but have not consulted a doctor yet. I do not have health insurance. I am from Kakinada, which is about 200 km from Vijayawada, and I am considering treatment in Visakhapatnam. I want to know whether an online consultation is possible first, if treatment or surgery is necessary for the lipoma, what the approximate cost would be, and whether EMI payment options are available.

A lipoma is a benign (non-cancerous) fatty lump that usually grows slowly under the skin. While it is generally not dangerous, treatment may be recommended if it causes pain, increases in size, or creates discomfort, or for cosmetic reasons. Since you have not yet consulted a doctor, it is advisable to first undergo a medical evaluation. This can be done through an online consultation initially, followed by an in-person visit if required.

As you do not have health insurance, the procedure would be self-paid. The cost depends on the size, number (count), and location of the lipoma. Small lipomas can often be removed through a minor surgical procedure under local anesthesia. EMI options are commonly available for eligible patients, allowing you to pay in easy monthly installments.

Since you are closer to Visakhapatnam, you can choose a nearby surgical center there for evaluation and treatment. The doctor will confirm whether immediate removal is needed after examining the swelling.
