Multiple Lipoma Removal : Surgery Cost & Insurance Coverage
2 months ago
I am 34 years old and a government employee from Lingampally near Kukatpally. I have multiple lipomas all over my body, around 30 in total, and would like to remove them in one sitting if possible. I have health insurance through Medi Assist and was told that I might get 100% cashless coverage. I want to know the total cost of removing multiple lipomas and whether the insurance will fully cover the procedure.

If you have multiple lipomas (around 30), removal can sometimes be planned in a single sitting depending on their size, location, and your overall health condition. The procedure is typically done under local or general anesthesia, based on the number and complexity of the lipomas.
The approximate cost for removing multiple lipomas in one sitting may be around ₹1.5 lakh as a package, but the final estimate depends on the number, size, surgical time, and hospital charges. Since you are covered under Medi Assist (as a TPA), insurance approval depends on your policy terms and whether lipoma removal is considered medically necessary (for example, if painful or causing complications).
If your policy allows 100% cashless coverage and the hospital is empanelled, you may receive full approval. However, pre-authorization is required. The hospital will submit your medical reports and doctor’s recommendation to the insurer, and the final approved amount will be confirmed by the insurance department.
