Recurrent miscarriage, causes and recommended investigations ?Miscarriage

I had two miscarriages back-to-back. We are worried if this could be due to some underlying health condition. What are the common causes of recurrent miscarriage, and what tests are usually recommended to identify the reason?

When miscarriages happen more than once, it is understandable to worry about underlying causes. Some common reasons include hormonal issues like thyroid problems or uncontrolled diabetes, structural problems in the uterus, genetic abnormalities in the pregnancy, clotting disorders, or infections. Doctors usually recommend a set of tests after two or more miscarriages.

These may include blood tests to check hormones, sugar levels, and clotting factors, genetic testing for both partners, and an ultrasound or hysteroscopy to look at the uterus. Finding the reason helps guide treatment and gives a clearer path for the next pregnancy. Many couples go on to have healthy children after recurrent miscarriage once the cause is identified and managed.
