What is the basic difference between a salon facial and a hospital/medical facial? Are medical facials only meant for acne or pigmentation issues?

There is a big difference between salon facials and hospital/medical facials. In a salon, the staff may not know your skin type, the type of acne you have, or which treatments are suitable for you. They usually provide a standard treatment without customization, which can sometimes worsen certain conditions for example, hydrafacial on pustular acne can spread the infection.

In contrast, in a hospital or clinic, your skin is carefully assessed by a doctor, and the facial is customized based on your skin type and concerns. For instance, if you have comedonal acne, extraction can be included safely in a hydrafacial, but for pustular acne, it would be avoided.

Hospital facials also follow strict sanitation and medical protocols, ensuring safety and effectiveness. Medical facials are not only for acne or pigmentation they are tailored to your skin’s needs, addressing multiple concerns while minimizing risks.
