Should I get breast checks more often if cancer runs in my family?

I have a family history of breast cancer. Does that mean any lump I find is more likely to be malignant, and should I get checked more frequently?

Having a family history of breast cancer does slightly increase your risk, but it doesn’t mean every lump will be cancerous. Many women with a family history still have benign lumps. My advice would be to have regular screenings, such as an annual mammogram or ultrasound after age 35, or earlier if your doctor recommends it.
Maintaining a healthy lifestyle and staying consistent with checkups can significantly reduce your overall risk.
