Uterine Fibroids (Rasoli) : Treatment Options and Fertility Concerns

I am 32 years old and have been diagnosed with fibroids (rasoli) in the uterus since 2021. I am currently on medication and my periods are mostly regular. My recent ultrasound shows fibroids, but I’m not sure about their exact number or size. I have one child and previously considered treatment options. Do fibroids always require surgery, or can they be managed with medicines? Also, will removing fibroids affect my ability to conceive or my uterus?

Fibroids (rasoli) are quite common and do not always require surgery. The treatment depends on the size, number, location of fibroids, and your symptoms such as heavy bleeding, pain, or fertility concerns. If your symptoms are controlled with medication and your periods are regular, conservative management may be continued under medical supervision.

Surgery is usually considered only if fibroids cause significant symptoms, grow in size, or affect fertility. In such cases, a procedure called myomectomy is performed, where only the fibroids are removed while preserving the uterus. This allows women to retain their uterus and still plan for pregnancy if desired.

Your doctor may recommend a detailed ultrasound or MRI to better assess the fibroids before deciding on the best treatment plan. A personalized approach is important to balance symptom relief and future fertility goals.
