Varicocele and Infertility: Diagnosis, Surgery Options, and CureVaricocele
8 months ago
I have been diagnosed with varicocele and I’m worried if this will cause infertility, especially with varicocele grade 4 symptoms? What are the main varicocele surgery types, like varicocele laparoscopic surgery, and can varicocele be cured completely? Also, how is varicocele diagnosis confirmed?

As your doctor, I understand your confusion. A varicocele, even at higher grades like grade 4, does not always cause infertility, but it can impair sperm quality in some men if left untreated.
Varicocele can be treated definitively, and the main surgical options include: Microscopic varicocelectomy, with the highest success and lowest recurrence, Laparoscopic varicocelectomy minimally invasive and usually reserved for specific cases, and the last one is embolization a catheter-based procedure to block the abnormal veins.
Varicocele diagnosis is usually confirmed through physical examination, sometimes aided by Doppler ultrasound, which assesses vein enlargement and blood flow. Surgery or embolization is recommended if there are fertility concerns, significant pain, or large varicoceles.
