What does a positive TB test mean for my health?
I recently received my TB test results, and it came back positive. This has made me really anxious because I’m not sure what it actually means. Does a positive test confirm that I have active TB? Or could it mean something else? I’m trying to understand how serious this is.

A positive TB test means that your body has been exposed to the TB bacteria. However, it does not always mean active disease.
It could indicate latent TB, where the bacteria are present but not causing symptoms or spreading. Further tests like chest X-ray or sputum examination are needed to confirm active TB.
The doctor will guide you on the next steps based on your symptoms and additional test results.
