What does it mean if the TB Gold test is positive?
I recently got a TB Gold blood test done as part of a health check-up, and the result came back positive. I’m confused because I don’t have any major symptoms right now. Does this mean I have TB, or is it something less serious?

A positive TB Gold test (IGRA) indicates that you have been infected with TB bacteria at some point.
However, like other TB tests, it does not differentiate between latent TB and active TB. If you don’t have symptoms, it may be a latent infection.
Your doctor may recommend further evaluation, such as imaging or additional tests, to determine if treatment is needed. Early assessment helps prevent future complications.
