Q

What results can I expect from Miscarriage surgery?Fess Surgery

After FESS surgery, how long does recovery usually take? Can a patient breathe normally immediately, or does it take weeks for swelling to go down? Also, when can someone safely resume work, travel, and exercise without affecting the healing process?

Recovery after FESS varies from person to person, but most patients are able to resume light daily activities within a week. Breathing may not feel completely normal immediately, because swelling and nasal crusts take some time to settle, usually two to three weeks. Saline washes and sprays help speed up healing and keep the nasal passages clear. Strenuous activities like gym workouts, heavy lifting, or long-distance travel should be avoided for at least two to three weeks, as these can trigger bleeding or discomfort. Office work or studies are generally resumed earlier, depending on how the patient feels. Over a few weeks, as the swelling reduces and the sinuses heal, most people experience a noticeable improvement in breathing and energy. Regular follow-up visits are important to ensure the healing is progressing well.
