What should I eat during typhoid to recover faster?

My younger sister was recently diagnosed with typhoid, and we are quite confused about her diet. She doesn’t feel like eating much, and we’re not sure what foods are safe or helpful for recovery. We’ve heard that diet plays an important role in typhoid, but there’s a lot of conflicting advice online. What kind of food should someone eat during typhoid to heal properly and regain strength?

During typhoid, the digestive system becomes sensitive, so it’s important to eat light, easily digestible foods.

You can include foods like khichdi, boiled rice, dal, curd, soups, and soft fruits like bananas. Staying well-hydrated with water, coconut water, and ORS is also very important.

Avoid oily, spicy, and heavy foods, as they can irritate the stomach. Small, frequent meals are better than large portions. A proper diet supports recovery and helps regain energy faster.
