Will Adenoid Removal Prevent My Son’s Ear Infections?

My son has frequent ear infections and the doctor says it’s due to enlarged adenoids. Will removing the adenoids actually prevent future ear infections, or is there still a chance the problem will come back?

Adenoidectomy often reduces the frequency of ear infections because the blocked airway improves drainage from the ears. Many children have fewer infections afterward. However, some may still get occasional infections, especially if they also have allergies or other sinus issues.
