I am an adult considering squint surgery. I also have glasses for vision correction. Will surgery interfere with my glasses prescription, and will I still need to wear them afterward?

Squint surgery changes the position of the eye muscles, not the shape of the eye, so it usually doesn’t affect your glasses prescription. If you need glasses for vision correction before surgery, you will likely still need them afterward. The surgery is meant to straighten the eyes for alignment and cosmetic improvement, while glasses continue to provide clarity. In some cases, the combination of glasses and surgery gives the best functional results.
