What will happen during my first appointment with an ENT doctor for sinusitis treatment?
During your first ENT appointment for sinusitis, the doctor will collect medical and family history, along with a history of your present illness. This will help them find the etiology of the disease, i.e., the cause of the symptoms.
Then, the doctor will perform a physical and visual examination. For this purpose, they may perform different diagnostic tests such as nasal endoscopy, diagnostic imaging tests (CT and MRI scans), allergy tests, nasal and sinus cultures, etc. Then, based on the cause and severity of your symptoms, they will prescribe you medication or surgery for long-term relief.
