- Blood tests to check the level of bilirubin to determine the liver functioning; Ultrasound of the abdomen and CT scan to analyze if the gallstones are present; Endoplasmic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) with the help of a small camera down to the gastrointestinal tract. This is done to check for the gallstone obstructing the bile duct.
