Benefits of Choosing Pristyn Care Treatment with Insurance
Since parotidectomy is performed as a medically necessary procedure, most insurance providers cover its cost under their health insurance and mediclaim policies. Patients who own either of the two policies can file a claim if they’ve been asked to get a parotidectomy. While health insurance policies provide comprehensive coverage for parotidectomy, a mediclaim may only cover the hospitalization expense. But, this is subject to vary, and you should therefore contact your respective insurance provider before filing a claim.

Here are five key differences between health insurance and mediclaim policies:
Coverage: Health insurance provides comprehensive coverage for a wide range of medical expenses, including hospitalization, doctor visits, diagnostic tests, medication, and more. On the other hand, mediclaim policies provide coverage specifically for hospitalization expenses, such as room and board, nursing care, and medical procedures related to the hospitalization.
Premiums: Mediclaim policies tend to have lower premiums than health insurance policies since they offer more limited coverage.
Benefits: Health insurance policies typically offer extensive coverage limits and benefits, including coverage for pre-existing conditions, maternity benefits, and preventive care services.
Claim Process: The claim process for mediclaim policies is generally simpler and more straightforward since the coverage is limited to hospitalization expenses. In contrast, health insurance claims may be more complex, and patients may need to submit documentation to support their claims.
Flexibility: Health insurance policies are more flexible and offer more customization options, allowing patients to choose the level of coverage and benefits that best suit their needs. In contrast, mediclaim policies offer limited coverage and may not be suitable for patients who need more comprehensive coverage.

Parotidectomy is covered by most health insurance policies and mediclaim policies. Individual insurance policies may differ. In general, insurance may cover the following expenses:
The total cost of your inpatient hospital stay includes all expenses incurred while you were hospitalized. If your insurance policy includes hospitalization coverage, your insurer will cover the entire cost. These fees could cover ICU fees, nursing fees, consultation and follow-up costs, surgical fees, the cost of diagnostic and surgical instruments, and more.
Prior to being hospitalized for sinusitis surgery, the majority of insurance plans typically cover your potential medical costs up to a predetermined period of time. This could include the price of the doctor’s consultation, medical research, diagnostic tests (like imaging tests, urinalysis, blood tests, etc.), medications, and other expenses.
Post-hospitalization expenses are similarly covered by specific medical insurance and mediclaim policies as are pre-hospitalization expenses. After you leave the hospital, the cost of your medications and other care is covered by the policy.
The insurance company will cover the costs of the ambulance service, including the cost of transporting you to the medical facility. A mediclaim policy may not cover ambulance services.
Health insurance and mediclaim policies cover any daycare operations including parotid gland surgery that need a hospital stay of less than 24 hours.
Both medical insurance and Medicare policies often give ‘No Claim Bonus’ advantages. You earn a bonus if you don’t utilize your health insurance claims for a particular length of time in a year, for example. The insurer may also increase your coverage limit for the next year.
When you are unable to go to a hospital for treatment due to your health, your mediclaim coverage may cover domiciliary hospitalization. You will still be eligible for medical care for at least three days.
With mediclaim insurance, you can also cover additional costs, such as ambulance and ICU fees, second opinions, and alternative therapies.
