Endometriosis recurrence after surgery choosing between repeat surgery and long-term hormonal management ?

My gynecologist recommended GnRH injections for 6 months to control endometriosis. I’m scared of “medical menopause” side effects, hot flashes, bone loss, mood swings. How risky are these drugs and will my fertility be affected in anyway due to this?

GNRH injections lower estrogen levels temporarily to reduce symptoms and disease activity. Side effects like hot flashes, mood swings, and some bone density loss can occur, but they usually reverse after stopping treatment.

Doctors often add small doses of hormones called add-back therapy to reduce these side effects. These drugs do not damage your long-term fertility, but they also do not improve fertility directly.

Once the course is completed, your natural cycle and fertility return.
