Endometriosis near menopause deciding between hysterectomy and waiting for natural relief

I’m 45 and symptoms have been severe for the last year. My doctor says menopause might reduce the pain, but also suggested hysterectomy. At my age, is surgery necessary or should I wait and see if things improve after menopause?

Many women see improvement in symptoms after menopause because hormone levels naturally drop. However, if the pain is severe and affecting your daily life, hysterectomy with or without removal of ovaries can be considered. The decision depends on how much the symptoms are interfering with your quality of life and whether you are close to natural menopause. Some women prefer to wait, others choose surgery for quicker relief.
