How long does it typically take to recover after breast surgery? When can I resume normal activities, exercise, and return to work without affecting the healing process?

Recovery after breast surgery is usually smooth. Most patients return to light work or daily tasks within 3 to 5 days and can resume full activity in about 3 to 4 weeks.

I advise avoiding heavy lifting and strenuous upper-body exercises for at least a few weeks to allow tissues to heal properly.

Wearing a supportive, non-wired bra helps control swelling and provides comfort during recovery. With proper rest and care, you’ll feel back to normal sooner than you expect.
