Will breast surgery affect my ability to breastfeed in the future? Are there techniques that preserve breastfeeding capability after surgery?

I know many women worry about breastfeeding after surgery, especially if they plan to have children. You’ll be glad to know that most breast lump surgeries do not affect your ability to breastfeed, since surgeons use careful, tissue-preserving techniques that avoid major milk ducts.
Only in rare cases, when the lump is very close to the nipple or large portions of glandular tissue need removal, might breastfeeding be partially affected.
