Are Thread Lifts Safe and How Long Do They Last?

I’ve seen people getting thread lifts for non-surgical facelifts. How safe is the procedure, and how long do the threads actually hold the lifted position before the effect fades?

Thread lifts are generally safe when performed by an experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon who understands facial anatomy well. The threads used today are absorbable and designed to stimulate collagen while providing a mild lift. Most people experience mild swelling or bruising for a few days, but serious complications are rare.

The lifting effect is usually noticeable for six to nine months, while the collagen-stimulating benefits can last longer, sometimes up to a year. Threads are best for mild to moderate sagging, not very heavy or loose skin.

However, if your expectations are realistic and the right areas are selected, the results can look subtle and refreshed rather than pulled or tight.
