Appendicitis Early Symptoms : How to Identify Migrating Abdominal Pain

I am 28 years old and started experiencing abdominal pain that initially began near my navel but later shifted to the lower right side of my abdomen. The pain has been progressively worsening over the past 24 hours. I also have a mild fever, loss of appetite and feel nauseated. The pain becomes more intense when I move or press the area. I am concerned whether this could be appendicitis and how urgent this situation is.

The symptoms you’ve described are highly indicative of appendicitis. One of the hallmark signs of appendicitis is the migration of pain from the central abdomen (around the navel) to the lower right quadrant. This is often accompanied by fever, loss of appetite, nausea and increasing pain intensity, especially with movement or pressure.

Appendicitis is an acute condition that can progress quickly. If not treated in time, the appendix may rupture, leading to serious complications such as infection of the abdominal cavity (peritonitis). Diagnosis is typically confirmed through clinical examination supported by imaging tests like ultrasound or CT scan.

The standard and most effective treatment is surgical removal of the appendix (appendectomy), usually performed laparoscopically.Early diagnosis and timely surgery significantly reduce the risk of complications and ensure a smooth recovery.
