Sudden Lower Right Abdominal Pain with Vomiting : Could It Be Appendicitis?
My friend suddenly developed abdominal pain along with vomiting and a mild fever since yesterday. The pain seems to be localized on the lower right side of the abdomen and increases when he walks or moves. We are worried if this is appendicitis and how serious this condition could be if left untreated.

Based on the symptoms described, appendicitis is a strong possibility. The combination of localized pain in the lower right abdomen, fever, vomiting and pain that worsens with movement is a typical presentation of this condition.
Appendicitis is considered a surgical emergency because the inflammation can worsen rapidly. If untreated, the appendix may rupture, leading to infection spreading within the abdomen, which can be life-threatening. Your friend should seek immediate medical attention for proper evaluation. Diagnosis is usually confirmed through physical examination and imaging tests.
If appendicitis is confirmed, the recommended treatment is surgical removal of the appendix. Early intervention ensures better outcomes and reduces recovery time.
