Laser Lens Procedure : Hydrophobic vs Hydrophilic Lenses, Duration, and Costs
1 week ago
I am 50 years old and considering a laser lens procedure for myself. I want to know what types of lenses are available, how long the procedure takes, whether it requires hospitalization, and if medical insurance can cover it. I also want details about the clinic location and other practical aspects.

There are two types of lenses for this procedure, hydrophobic and hydrophilic. Hydrophobic lenses are considered lifelong lenses and are healthy, waterproof, and durable, meaning they will function for the rest of your life. Hydrophilic lenses are also effective but are not waterproof and may last for a shorter period, ranging from six months to a year depending on individual conditions.
The procedure itself is a laser-based surgery and can be completed in one day. You will undergo the required tests and the treatment on the same day and be discharged to go home, so no extended hospitalization is needed. At present, there is no medical insurance coverage for this procedure.
