Recurrence of Swelling After Gynecomastia Surgery: Causes and the Right Treatment
4 weeks ago
I had gynecomastia surgery earlier, but after a few years, the chest bulge has appeared again. I want a flat chest. Why does this happen and what is the right treatment?

The main reason for the recurrence of gynecomastia is that the gland (breast tissue) may not have been completely removed during the previous surgery, or only contouring (shaping) was performed. If some portion of the gland is left behind, it can gradually grow over time, leading to the reappearance of chest bulging.
For long-lasting and effective results, complete gland excision (removal) along with proper chest contouring is essential. This helps achieve a flat and natural-looking chest. The procedure is generally safe and is usually done as a day-care or short-stay surgery.
A proper evaluation and consultation with an experienced surgeon can significantly reduce the chances of recurrence and help you achieve the desired results.
