Symptoms like long-standing nasal blockage, one-sided breathing difficulty, morning headaches, and facial pressure for 2 years strongly suggest chronic sinusitis or possibly a structural issue like a deviated nasal septum or nasal polyps.
When medicines only give temporary relief, it usually means the underlying blockage is not resolving completely.
In such cases, surgery is not the first step, but it does become a very effective option when medical treatment fails. Procedures like endoscopic sinus surgery are designed to open the blocked sinus pathways so that normal drainage and breathing can be restored.
Many patients who undergo surgery do report significant long-term relief, but the key is proper evaluation first, usually with a nasal endoscopy and CT scan, to understand exactly what is causing the blockage. Not every case needs surgery, but when symptoms persist this long despite treatment, it’s definitely worth discussing with an ENT specialist. You can avail free consultation at Pristyn Care.
