Bleeding after taking an abortion combipack (mifepristone and misoprostol) can continue for several days and may gradually become lighter. However, very heavy or prolonged bleeding should not be ignored.
If you are soaking 2 or more large sanitary pads per hour for 2 consecutive hours, or have severe abdominal pain, dizziness, fainting, fever, or foul smelling discharge, seek urgent medical care. Otherwise, contact your gynecologist for a follow up assessment to ensure the abortion is complete and to determine whether any further treatment is needed.
