We live in kharar and the hospital here do acl tear repair at a vey high cost. Does insurance cover treatment outside hometown, or is it limited to local hospitals or private hospitals. And can insurance cover up in the government hospital for this treatment ?

You will be happy to know that health insurance coverage is not limited to the insured’s hometown. And you can easily avail the facility in any city across India, provided the hospital is empanelled with your insurance provider.
Also, for your information, in cashless network hospitals, the insurer settles bills directly, while in non-network hospitals, you may need to pay first and then claim reimbursement.
Government hospitals generally charge much less for ACL surgery, and if they are empaneled under your insurance or covered by government schemes like Ayushman Bharat or ESI, your treatment costs can also be covered there.
