Hysterectomy is not always the only solution. Abnormal bleeding can occur due to many reasons, such as uterine fibroids, an enlarged uterus, or the presence of uterine polyps. These are often non-cancerous conditions, and in such cases, treatment may be possible without immediately opting for surgery. Depending on the cause, doctors may suggest hormonal medications, medical therapy, or certain devices to control bleeding and symptoms.

However, if the underlying reason carries a risk of turning into cancer, or if the bleeding keeps recurring despite medications, devices, or other conservative treatments, doctors may recommend hysterectomy as a definitive solution. In some cases, medical treatment may provide only temporary relief, and the problem returns or worsens over time. When the condition is severe, persistent, or not responding to other treatments, hysterectomy is advised to provide long-term relief and prevent future complications.

The decision depends on the cause of bleeding, severity of symptoms, response to treatment, and overall health of the patient, and should always be made after thorough evaluation and discussion with the doctor.
